From Bars to Brands: How A Marketing Book Set Me Free

Welcome, Homies.

I extend my hand and my heart in solidarity.

Heard you got released, welcome out my brother. How was the county, how was the water? Hoping your days included hot water and warm showers, a luxury in most dorms. Times are getting better. Resources for felons are improving. Laws are passing; less and less are we viewed as scheduled caste. What kind of spread did your house make, when SB1008 passed? Ours was bigger.

I didn’t like the phones much. What’s there to talk about, if not money? I chose to read, scoping out books, paid good ramen for some. It wasn’t always the case. Until you see and investigate, it’s hard to know what’s out there. But once you stumble on a new venture and begin to comprehend it, choosing inaction becomes an aggressive decision to refrain from acting, indicating a desire, a want, to not act.

At any given time, you are exactly where you ever wanted to be.

A young man told me this as we were being escorted onto the bus. Court day. What nightmares. What joys. He blamed politicians for the artificially high meth and heroin prices across county jails, made a direct comparison with the saudis and OPEC. Fucking saudis. We’d tactfully maneuvered to the back during the handcuffing process, and last in line has front-row seats for the “what coulda been” show.

As I prepared my meal later that evening, the man’s statement came to mind. No one was lingering around me, no one eyeing my food. Tranquility. I thought about my carefully crafted position. Isolation and indifference. To engage is to accept variables of misunderstandings, favors, gossip, loaning. I wanted no part of it. Not this time. The ends justified the means. Solitude and isolation are exchanged for the luxury of eating in peace. A trade that only makes sense in jail. I’d seen the alternative from prior stays.

This is a recurring theme in life. Driving 100mph on the freeway is fun, as long as you accept the inevitable variables that follow and be at peace when they do. The ends (tickets) must justify the means (speeding) at all costs. With this in mind, an officer is never to blame. You invited the officer to your world. How can you not welcome guests you’ve invited? The guests you wanted when you sped!

Never presume an unwelcomed development will be worse for the long run.

Sitting in the county is what you make it. Some have the time of their life, others just can’t see it. They assume it’s the worst thing that could have happened, especially at this time. A stint in Las Vegas was the greatest “misfortune” that happened to me. I stumbled on a book that changed my life and gave me insight into a whole nother world. One with the potential of earning millions, with near nonexistent startup costs. The world of online marketing. Earning by writing, by selling, never leaving the house. I was the happiest during those times. Everything was so clear. Legal money, millions of it, all within reach, no expertise needed to execute. My criminal past was now an asset to embrace.

This blog is dedicated to spreading that light amongst the newly released. For those whose bad record prevents them from earning. To all those who think their chances of millions are out of reach or require special expertise. The book itself had no value, its sole purpose was to sell what the author was cooking. But the concept was clear. Build a website, find traffic somehow, and reap advertiser benefits on near stand-by. You risked jail/prison time for your deeds, the fire is certainly there. Let me show you where to shine it.

They convicted us under objective guidelines such as “a reasonably prudent person, under the same or similar circumstances…”

This blog will apply the same standard of care. It will assume the average convict does not know about online ventures, nor the ease of the process, and does not know where to begin.
The results are quick and persistent, the growth unimaginable by our standards. If ease is defined by familiarity, then it’s easy work.
